To commemorate Starsets hiatus we were tasked with creating an ambitious music video within an even more ambitious timeline. Working with our good friends Anders and Trevor we set about distilling a complex narrative of 2 astronauts crossing the horizons of the universe to find themselves at either side of the same wormhole. As if the timeline wasn’t tight enough, we had to develop 2 characters, 2 worlds and 2 timelines. It was the kind of project only insane people would take on - so naturally we jumped at it. It was a perfect time to launch ourselves into Unreal Engine. One major benefit was this almost completely eliminated the need to factor in render time. It was craft, craft, craft right until the bitter end. Andy led the design direction and Nik led the animation direction. With tight timelines it's important to try and minimise the number of shots that need to be built, but maximise the quality of those shots.
